According to the statutes of Estonian Chemical Society the Honorary Members of Society are elected from the Estonian or foreign  citizens, who have long time contributions to the activities of  ECS. Honorary Members of ECS are:

Prof. Lauri Niinistö (Finland) - 1989, on the development of cooperation between the Estonian and Finnish chemists and chemical societies.
Dr. Oskar Kirret - 1989, on the long-standing active presidency of ECS.
Evald Elmann - 1989, on the active work on the compilation of documents about the history of ECS.
Valdek Mikkal - 1994, on the re-establishment of ECS as independent organisation.
Mihkel Veiderma - 1994, on the long-standing participation in the board of ECS.
Prof. Charles Lochmuller (USA, Duke University)-1996

Foreign members of ECS are elected on the basis of their  support to the ECS. At the moment they are as follows:
Prof. Lauri Niinistö - Helsinki Technical University, Finland.
Prof. Lauri Vaska - Clarkson University, USA.
Prof. Mare Taagepera - University of California , USA.
Prof. Enn Päärt - Chalmers Technical University, Sweden.
Kalju Käärik - Sweden.

 Founded in 1983 P. Kogerman memorial medal is special award for the Estonian chemists. P. Kogerman (1881-1951) was founder of Estonian oil shale chemistry, rector of Tallinn Technical University, head of Estonian Ministry of Education, member of Estonian Academy of Sciences. 36 Estonian chemists have been awarded with this medal:
